American Alpine

Buttercup was our very first doe. To the left is a picture of her when she was 10. With her is Oopsy, the Boer cross doe kid she had that year. Oopsy was supposed to be an alpine kid! Buttercup was a strong doe, with a personality bordering on stubborn.

Her udder attachments needed improvement, but she was a good milker. The one time we entered her in a milk-out at a show, her kids managed to get in and nurse, but she still had 4.4 lbs milk, with 3.5% butterfat at 7 years old.

Mother of Sunnicup, Dancer, Espresso, & Oopsie Daisy. We no longer have any of her sons or daughters, but she has 2 granddaughters -- Daisy and Minnie, and Great-granddaughter Cup'O Tea, as well as their daughters Shasta, Maria, Magic, Marci, Glory & Cheer.
