Without the Shenandoah Middle School Band program, we wouldn't have a high school band. Starting in the 6th grade, and going through 8th grade, students learn the basics of playing an instrument, and performing in concerts, solos, and with ensemble groups. Fifth grade students are offered band as an elective when they begin Middle School. Beginning students are offered an opportunity to learn a new instrument through private instruction during the month of June following the end of school. Parents are encouraged to get involved with the band boosters early in the student's musical career.
